HILAME is co-directed by researchers Arsenio Dacosta, Agurtzane Paz Moro and José Ramón Díaz de Durana.
The project was launched in 2016 by the research group Society, Power and Culture at the University of the Basque Country / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU). It now belongs to the group Societies, Processes, Cultures (8th–18th Centuries), a broad network of specialists in the medieval and early modern periods who share a multidisciplinary approach in support of open science. The group is co-directed by Professors José Ramón Díaz de Durana and Francesca Tinti.
